In 2005 I had the privilege of visiting KIPP Gaston, in the legendary peanut field in rural Northampton County. I immediately accepted an invitation to join the board.
After a couple years on the board, I stepped off, only to return in 2009 again as a board member, then as interim Chief Operating Officer for the KIPP in eastern North Carolina.
Fast forward to 2016 and after a few years running a challenge, turned hobby, turned business, I decided that my passion was public education and insuring that it be the vehicle of opportunity it was intended to be.
